Challenge
Financial institutions face growing pressure to identify, assess, and manage climate risks and opportunities across their lending and investment portfolios. Accurate tracking and reporting of financed emissions has become essential, yet remains complex and resource intensive.
Data challenges are central to the problem: emissions data is often missing, inconsistent, unverified, or misreported. There is no single trusted source, and multiple institutions are forced to collect and validate data independently - leading to duplication, inefficiencies, and higher costs. Inconsistent methodologies across firms further heighten regulatory risk.
To meet expectations and align with evolving standards, financial institutions require streamlined technology that can integrate financial, portfolio, sector, identifier, and emissions data across time periods - while adapting to the unique calculation requirements of each asset class and data quality level.
